Helping Children with Yoga
Right from the Start

by
Sarah Woodhouse, Michelle Cheesbrough & Rosemary Griffiths

'I can see how particularly valuable it will be for overactive children in many of our homes.'
From the Foreword by Yehudi Menuhin

Yoga is one of the best ways to establish a child's emotional harmony and to help nurture body, mind and spirit. This book looks at the many benefits of teaching yoga to children and demonstrates imaginative, simple ways to do so. It provides parents, carers and teachers with a thorough introduction to all aspects of yoga, from the physical poses to the underlying philosophy. This book provides help for:
  raising children's self esteem
    increasing physical well-being
    energizing and calm
helping children to concentrate and learn.

SARAH WOODHOUSE is Chief Executive of the Right from the Start education project and an experienced teacher, researcher and author.

MICHELLE CHEESBROUGH trains teachers to teach yoga to children through the British Wheel of Yoga Children's Module, and runs classes for all age groups.

ROSEMARY GRIFFITHS spent 7 years studying yoga in a Christian Ashram in India run in the Indian tradition. Returning to the UK she taught yoga to 7-11 year olds in the UK primary school.
