Peer Support Works
A step by step guide to long term success

by
Netta Cartwright

This very practical book provides teachers and other practitioners with the means to establish and sustain peer support programmes in learning environments. Peer support is increasingly being adopted by schools as a means of proactively preventing and tackling problems. The book's main focus is on the sustainability of peer support programmes, since many schools initiate such schemes but find it hard to sustain them over time with each new generation of students.

Netta Cartwright is a registered teacher of the Re-evaluation Counselling model of co-counselling and was the first teacher in the UK to pioneer peer-counselling in 1985. She has set up and developed peer support services in 30 schools and a pupil referral unit. As well as authoring books on peer counselling bullying, her work has been featured on television.
